OUTDOOR CINEMA FAQs

Find out How the Cinema Experience Works

What is included in the hire?

Premium Boho Picnic - includes rugs, folding natural picnic table, cushions, table runner, decor, placemats, melamine plates, cotton napkins & goblet glasses

OR a Teepee Tent Package which includes the large lace white teepee tent, rugs and cushions to get comfortable. (depending on the group size, a couple of tents may be supplied for the one booking)

Plus the amazing Full Cinema Kit : Projector, amplifier, DVD player, and built-in speakers housed in a cabinet unit. Cabinet unit comes in a custom carry bag for transportation. Projector and DVD remote controls. 3-metre-wide screen components (poles, joints, fabric screen, guy ropes, eye bolts). Standard tent pegs, soft ground pegs, and peg hammer. Flood light (to assist pack-down in the dark).

What ground conditions are required?

For medium-firm ground with full natural grass coverage, use standard tent pegs (included in hire) to secure guy ropes to the ground.

For soft ground, use soft ground pegs (included in hire) to secure guy ropes to the ground.

For artificial turf or pavement, you can use water drums, filled with water in situ, to secure guy ropes in lieu ground pegs. These are available to hire for $5 per set and must be requested at the time of booking.

You cannot use the screen without securing the guy ropes either to the ground (using pegs), to water drums (available for hire), or to a fixed structure.

What formats can I play?

DVD (any region code).

USB files in MP4 and MOV file format.

Apple TV, Chromecast (provided your WiFi signal is sufficient).

Note - you will need your own HDMI cable to connect your own device.

Blu-ray discs.

Devices requiring WiFi if your WiFi signal is insufficient.

What additional hire items are available?

Water drum set - necessary for erecting the screen on artificial turf or pavement.

Extension cords. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure they have an extension cord with sufficient length to reach the power source.

What space/area is required for the outdoor cinema?

Overall space requirements vary depending on extras (picnic setup, etc).

As a minimum: Ensure you have sufficient space to accommodate the screen, guy ropes, and ground pegs or water drums.

Ensure you can position the projector unit 3-4 metres from the screen. Do not plan to sit in the path of the projecting image. Ensure you have sufficient space to accommodate any additional hire items such as outdoor rugs & picnic tables
